Animation is about making things come to life.
Animation is the rapid display of a sequence of images in order to create an illusion of movement.
Animations have many genres and styles (eg Anime), much like films or television.
How an object or character moves is critical to making a particular animation work.
However, animation is also about telling a story.
You don’t have to be a great drawer to become an excellent animator.
There are a number of basic Principles that animators use to design exciting and entertaining animations.
These include the Principles of:

• Anticipation,
• Appeal,
• Ease in and out,
• Exaggeration,
• Squash and Stretch and others.

Animation involves drawing keyframes, where the main actions happen eg. a basic walk cycle may contain 8 key frames or drawings to create the illusion of movement. Lip synching shows the key frames required to make a character appear to be talking. As well as key frames in between frames are drawn.
